Spartans Wrap Up Day One At Husky Invitational

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – San José State women's swimming and diving wrapped up their first day of competition at the Husky Invitational. The Spartan relay teams excelled with one win, a runner-up and third and fourth-place finish while five individuals placed in the top-10 in their individual races.
 
In the day's first event, the Spartan "A" relay team of Antoinette Loya, Madelyn Sailors, Katie McIntee and Gabby Heng won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.38. The SJSU "B" team finished close behind in fourth. In the 400 medley relay, the "A" and "B" squads took home a 2-3 finish with the "A" team edged out by the University of Idaho for the top spot.
 
Individually, Sailors had the best finish of the afternoon as she placed fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.78. Loya (27.01) and Heng (27.12) also finished in the top-10 of the race. Kate Hanf (2:27.28) and Chloe Limargo (2:25.28) also had top-10 finishes in the 200 individual medley as they placed eighth and 10th, respectively.
