Spartans Finish Second At Lamkin Invitational

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.—Kajsa Arwefjäll and Ysabel Tran won their matches for the Spartan women's golf team, but San José State could not get the elusive third point as the team fell to San Diego State, 3-2, Tuesday afternoon in the championship match of the Lamkin Invitational.

Arwfjäll won 4&3 over Ella Adams. She never trailed in the match and was up at least one after the second hole. She increased to lead to four up and win the match after making par at #15 while Adams made a bogey.
 
Tran never trailed in her match with April Ranches that she won 2&1. Tran took the lead for good in #14 as she made par and Ranches made bogey. Tran won the match on #17 after she made a bogey by Ranches had a double bogey.
 
After an impressive Monday, Antonia Malate fell to Gioia Carpinelli 1 up. Malate could never get a lead in her match but never trailed by more than two.
 
Natasha Andrea Oon also fought hard in her match with Sara Kjelker but fell 1 up. Oon made five birdies during her round but could never get a lead in the match.
 
Maddie White lost 1 up to Fernanda Escauriza after it was determined that a wrong score was posted on a hole during the match. White
 
San José State co-hosts the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational, March 9 and 10, with the University of San Francisco at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
