San Jose, Calif.—San Jose State won 4-1 over San Francisco in a dual Friday afternoon at Spartan Beach.
The Spartans needed three sets in three of the four matches won. Ryann Thomison and Kiley Lingenfelter were the only Spartans to win in straight sets and got the first point of the dual at 21-5 and 21-19.
Thaliana Grajeda and Tabea Schwarz won the next point, 21-12, 18-21, 15-10. Haylee Nelson and Sarah Smevog then won 21-12, 18-21, 15-10, followed closely by Summer Vercruyssen and Latahevai Lousi at 19-21,
San Jose State is now 6-1 on the season. The team plays two duals at Pacific on Saturday – versus Sacramento State at noon and against the Tigers at 2 p.m.
