Fairfax, Calif.—Antonia Malate, Natasha Andrea Oon and Kajsa Arwefjäll each finished in the top-20 at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Tuesday as the San José State women's golf team finished fifth at 891.
Malate recorded her first top-10 finish in her collegiate career as she was sixth at one-over 217. After shooting under par the first two rounds, the birdies did not show up on her card as she shot a four-over 76 on Tuesday with 14 pars and four bogeys.
Oon finished tied for eighth at three-over 219, shooting a 73 in all three rounds. In the final round, Oon made four birdies and finished with back-to-back birdies on holes three and four.
Arwefjäll had her first collegiate top-20 finish as she shot a team-best one-under 71 in the final round. She tied for 13th at five-over 221. Arwefjäll started her round with eight consecutive pars (starting on #6) before a bogey on #14. She then made four more pars before finishing birdie-par-birdie-par-par.
Ysabel Tran and Maddie White finished 57th and 58th respectively. Tran shot a 79 in the final round to shoot a 235 over the three rounds, while White finished with an 81 in the third round and a 236 for the tournament.
Jadan Gonzalez, playing as an individual, shot 75-77-79 for the three rounds and tied for 46th at 231.
The Spartans shot a 299 in the final round and finished in fifth place. Oregon State won the tournament, shooting a four-under 284 in the final round to win by six shots over Washington State.
