Milne Receives First MPSF Honor

San Jose, Calif.—San José State women's gymnast Emma Milne has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Freshman of the Week after her performances in a dual meet last week at Sacramento State.

Milne tied her San José State and MPSF record on beam with a 9.925 to win the event. She had set the record a week earlier at Seattle Pacific.  Milne also helped the Spartan beam team record a 49.250, the second-best beam score in school and MPSF history.

On bars, Milne won her first title on the apparatus with a season-best 9.900, becoming the seventh Spartan in school history to achieve that score. She joined fellow freshman Jada Mazury who achieved a 9.900 earlier this season.

Milne added a season-best 9.650 in the lead-off spot on vault.

San José State competes this Sunday, March 8, in a quadrangular meet at Denver with Washington and Alaska Anchorage at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT.
