LAST MEET
In a very close meet at Sacramento State, the Spartans won all four event titles and Emma Milne tied her school record as the San José State women's gymnastics team escaped with a 194.275-194.225 win over the Hornets on February 28.

One week after becoming the first Spartan to ever record a 9.925 on beam, Milne repeated her feat with another 9.925 on beam to win the beam title. She also helped the Spartan beam team record a 49.250, the second-highest beam score in school history and the first time the Spartans have recorded that exact score.

Milne started the meet with another accomplishment in her young Spartan career. She is now the seventh Spartan in school history to record a 9.900 on bars, joining fellow freshman Jada Mazury who accomplished the feat on February 14.

Taylor Chan won the other two event titles, taking the vault with a 9.800 and the floor with a 9.850. She won her sixth vault title and 23rd floor title in her Spartan career.

MILNE HONORED BY MPSF
Emma Milne

Milne tied her San José State and MPSF record on beam with a 9.925 to win the event. She had set the record a week earlier at Seattle Pacific.  Milne also helped the Spartan beam team record a 49.250, the second-best beam score in school and MPSF history.

On bars, Milne won her first title on the apparatus with a season-best 9.900, becoming the seventh Spartan in school history to achieve that score. She joined fellow freshman Jada Mazury who achieved a 9.900 earlier this season.

Milne added a season-best 9.650 in the lead-off spot on vault.

MILNE SETS BEAM RECORD X2
Freshman Emma Milne etched her name in the San José State record book as she set the Spartan beam record with a 9.925 at Seattle Pacific on February 21. Just one week later, she added her name to the record again as Milne had another 9.925 on beam at Sacramento State on February 28. She won the beam title in each of those meets. Eight Spartans, including current teammates Taylor Chan and Chelsey Andrada, had recorded a 9.900 in a meet 11 times, but no one could reach past that score.

On Valentine's Day, the Spartans received a candy heart with a 195.025 team score on it, the first time the team got a 195+ score this season.  The 195.025 team score ties for the 25th best team score in school history.

BEAM TEAM ADDING NEW NUMBERS
In three meets during February, the Spartan beam team has recorded three top-five scores, adding two new numbers to the list. At Sacramento State on February 28, the beam team scored a 49.250, the second-best beam score in school history and the first time that score had been achieved by SJSU. WE LIKE THAT FLOOR ROUTINE
Taylor Chan
continues to show why she is fun to watch on the floor. She recorded her first 9.950 on floor with her routine on Valentine's Day in a meet with Alaska Anchorage. She is the fourth Spartan in school history to receive a 9.950 on floor, following in the footsteps of Dani Albright, Shirla Choy and Thomasina Wallace. Chan also won the all-around with a 38.775.This season, Chan has recorded a 9.900 or better in four meets.  In her four years at San José State, she has received a 9.900 or better on floor 18 times.

FRESHMEN HITTING THE 9.900 MARK ON BARS
Two Spartan freshmen have made an impact on bars for the team this season after each has recorded a 9.900. The latest to do it was Emma Milne who recorded her score in a meet at Sacramento State on February 28, to win the event. Jada Mazury received a 9.900 on bars against Alaska Anchorage on Valentine's Day. They are the sixth and seventh Spartan gymnasts to record a 9.900 and the 18th and 19th times it has happen in school history.

SHE DID WHAT??!!
Although we have seen her perform exhibitions on the beam, Nikki Duggan finally got to show of her beam routine on Valentine's Day, and boy were we impressed. In the sixth spot in the lineup, Duggan performed to cheers of her teammates, landed and the judges rewarded her with a 9.800. Well, that scored turned out to be the best beam score of the night and gave Duggan her first collegiate event title.

WINNER, WINNER
In just her second meet as a Spartan, freshman Emma Milne won her first collegiate event title as she tied for first on beam with a 9.850 at Alaska Anchorage. She now has three beam titles and one bars title on the season.

WINNER, WINNER PART DEUX
Freshman Jada Mazury won her first two collegiate events in a meet at UC Davis on February 7. She started the night with a 9.800 on bars and finished with a 9.875 on beam for the two victories. Mazury added another event title the next week as she won the bars with a 9.900 on Valentine's Day.
