San Jose State University quarterback Josh Love announced he signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles following the completion of the 2020 National Football League Draft.
Love, from Mission Viejo, Calif., joins the nearby NFC West Division team following a 2019 season when he earned Mountain West "Offensive Player of the Year" honors for the Spartans. He completed 60.9 percent of his passes with only eight interceptions for 3,923 yards and 22 touchdowns. Love led the Mountain West and was third nationally in passing yards per game. Five times in 2020, Love passed for more than 400 yards in a game including 402 yards in a win at Arkansas, 438 yards versus Boise State, and a single-game career-best 465 at UNLV.
Originally, a non-scholarship player and a 2019 semifinalist for the Burlsworth Trophy honoring the nation's top walk-on, Love started 26 times in his 41-game college career. On the San Jose State career lists, he ranks third in passing yardage (7,206), fourth in pass completions (578), seventh in total offense (6,924 yards), and ninth in passing efficiency (126.72 rating).
Love majored in business management information systems. He was a four-time Academic All-Mountain West award recipient, the Spartans' 2019 nominee for the Campbell Trophy and a 2020 San Jose State University Dean's Scholar.
