San Jose State head volleyball coach Trent Kersten will serve as a member of the 2020 U.S. Girls Youth National Training Team coaching staff, as announced on Thursday by USA Volleyball (USAV).
Kersten joins Alyssa D'Errico (associate head coach at Dayton University) as the two assistant coaches on the staff of head coach Keegan Cook, the current head coach at the University of Washington.
Kersten, who was named the Spartan head coach in February, has been a part of the USA Volleyball High Performance programs in the past, including on the staff (with D'Errico) of the 2019 team that won a gold medal at the High Performance Championships.
"Getting to represent our national governing body (USAV) has always been a dream of mine," said Kersten. "It is an honor to be a member of this coaching staff, and I am excited to continue to be a member of USAV High Performance. I am grateful for the support from San José State to do so. Go Team USA! And Spartan Up!"
