SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San José State women's water polo team and 11 individual members earned Association of College Water Polo Coaches all-academic honors, the organization announced.
Lior Ben David, with a GPA of 3.96, led the way for the Spartans this academic year. She was one of six to be named to the ACWPC outstanding list, with GPAs of 3.71-or-better. The Spartans also had five players on the superior list, with GPAs of 3.41-3.70.
"We are beyond proud of our Spartans that earned this impressive accolade this year," said head coach Beth Harberts. "This distinction shows a tremendous effort on behalf of our student athletes and the continued support of our athletics department leadership team."

Joining Ben David (3.962) on the all-academic list is Tyanna Supreme (3.855), Clarissa Wandinger (3.847), Riley Agerbeek (3.777), Sophie Spivack (3.737), Bailey Stubblefield (3.720), Matilda Moore (3.643), Hannah Henry (3.576), Olga Descalzi Portell (3.570), Lili Urvari (3.487) and Isabella Schmidt (3.475).
To qualify for recognition, a team must own a 3.0-or-better GPA while individuals must possess a 3.20-or-better GPA.
The Spartans also had 11 players earn the honor last year, in addition to the team recognition. This is the fourth straight year the Spartans have received the team award.
