Bowling Green, Ohio—Five San José State women's gymnasts have been named 2019-20 Scholastic All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA).
Chelsey Andrada, Nikki Duggan, Jada Mazury, Emma Milne and Carli Orcutt received the honor. Andrada finishes her Spartan career as a three-time Scholastic All-American, while the other four received the award for the first time.
To be eligible for the award, gymnasts must have a 3.5 overall grade point average or a 3.5 grade point average for 2019-20.
"We are so proud of the academic success of our gymnasts! Despite the adversity faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and our season cut short, the gymnasts continued to stay the course and be true leaders in the classroom, especially after being sent home to finish the academic year online. This is a true testament to their commitment, dedication and incredible work ethic fostered within our program.," said Spartan head coach Joanne Bowers.
