Beyond Football: Building a Championship Life
This will be accomplished in the following ways:
EXPLORE: Campus and Community
The Beyond Football program encourages San Jose State University student-athletes to explore the campus, the city of San Jose and the Bay Area to discover what these communities have to offer. Through this process student athletes will connect with companies and organizations, identifying interests and igniting passion for life; beyond the game.
INSPIRE: Self and Others
The Beyond Football program creates a culture of volunteerism and embraces Silicon Valley, globally recognized as the Capital of Innovation; to find inspiration for building a championship life. Through this process student-athletes will engage in enrichment activities that enhance their experience as a member of the community and campus, and identifying what inspires them, why it inspires them, and how that inspiration can help them build a bridge to their life beyond football. By discovering what powers them, and actively pursuing their interests within a greater community, student-athletes may also inspire teammates, classmates, and the next generation of Spartans.
CULTIVATE: Knowledge, Skills, and Relationships
The Beyond Football program is designed to build a foundation for professional success in life off the field. Through this process student-athletes will develop career-focused proficiencies, adopting best practices in their desired profession, and cultivate the knowledge, skills, and relationships necessary to establish a successful professional life beyond football
