Women's Gymnastics Keeps Progressing In Meet at UCLA

Los Angeles, Calif.—The San José State women's gymnastics team continued to grow as scores continued to improve as the Spartans recorded a 193.575 Saturday afternoon in a meet at UCLA.
Freshman Lauren Macpherson broke the 39.000 barrier in the all-around with a season-high 39.025. She was the team's top performer on vault with a season-high 9.800. She added a 9.775 on bars, 9.700 on beam and a 9.750 on floor.
Saturday was a homecoming for current Spartan graduate student Mercedez Sanchez. Returning to Pauley Pavilion, Sanchez performed on the bars and beam for the Spartans, recording a 9.750 and 9.675 respectively.
