San Jose, Calif.—San José State women's gymnastics swept the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation weekly honors for the week ending March 14, after competing in meets against Stanford and at UCLA.
Freshman Lauren Macpherson was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week. She started the week recorded a then-career-best 38.950 in the all-around against Stanford. She led the team on vault with a 9.775 and added a 9.800 on bars and a season-best 9.800 on floor. She helped the Spartans score an MPSF best 194.375. At UCLA, Macpherson broke the 39+ barrier in the all-around with a 39.025. She led the vault team with a season-high 9.800. This is her third MPSF weekly award this season.
Freshman Jaudai Lopes was named the MPSF Freshman of the Week. She competed on vault and bars in the two meets last week. She scored a career-best 9.725 on bars against Stanford, and a career-best 9.750 on vault at UCLA. This is her first MPSF weekly honor.
Sophomore Emma Milne was named the MPSF Specialist of the Week after competing on bars and beam last week. She tied for second on bars against Stanford with a 9.825 and added a season-best 9.850 on beam. Milne led the Spartans on bars at UCLA with a 9.850, tying for third place, and had a team-high 9.750 on beam. This is Milne's third career MPSF weekly honor and the first this year.
San José State competes this Saturday at Air Force beginning at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT.
