USAFA, Colo.—After a meet schedule cut in half because of COVID-19, the San José State women's gymnastics team finished the 2021 season with a team-best 194.475 Saturday afternoon in a meet at the United States Air Force Academy.
Three different Spartans won events titles on the day. Lauren Macpherson tied for first on the vault as she tied her career best with a 9.800. Jada Mazury won the bars with a season high 9.850. Emma Milne also tied for first on beam with a season high 9.875.
The Spartans started the meet tying their season best at 48.775 on bars, led by Mazury's 9.850. Milne followed with a 9.800, Alexa Solomon with a career-best 9.750, Mercedez Sanchez at 9.725, Jaudai Lopes at 9.650 and Macpherson at 9.100.
The vault posted a season-best 48.400, led by Macpherson's 9.800. Madison Kirsch recorded a season-best 9.700, followed by Cameron Kelperis and Antonia Marquez at 9.675, Lopes at 9.550 and Oructt at 9.500.
The third rotation belonged to the floor team as they scored a season-best 48.900. Mazury led the team with a career-best 9.875, followed by Macpherson at 9.800, Kelperis at 9.775, Orcutt and Marquez at 9.725 and Jasmine Henley at 9.000.
The Spartans finished the meet with a 48.350 on beam and had to count a fall. Milne recorded her season-best 9.875 to lead the team. Sanchez finished the year with a season best 9.825, followed by Macpherson at 9.775, Lopes at 9.725, Mazury at 9.150 and Orcutt at 9.025.
