San José State senior middle blocker Ryann Thomison has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for her play in the Spartans two wins over Nevada last week.
Thomison averaged 1.00 blocks, 2.43 kills and 0.57 digs per set as the Spartans won 3-1 and 3-0 over Nevada. She led the Spartans with four blocks in the 3-0 win and added three blocks (one solo, two assists in Friday's win. For the week Thomison hit .455 and had 11 kills in Friday's win.
The Spartans are 3-5 on the season and host Colorado State this Friday and Saturday at 3 p.m.
