Spartans Fall To SDSU In Series Finale

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Jose State softball was unable to complete the series win over San Diego State, falling to the Aztecs by a final of 14-3 on Sunday. 

The Spartans (5-18, 1-8) will next take a quick break from conference play as they get set for a quick trip to Berkeley to take on Pac-12 foe Cal on Tuesday. 

QUICK HITTERS:
- The Spartans' three runs were the most they have scored in league play this season.
- Jessica Giacoma and Jocylyn Vidal each secured a hit to extend their hit streaks to three.
- The Spartans take an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Giacoma RBI single, but the lead was quickly erased after the Aztecs plated nine runs in the home half of the inning.
- SJSU scored two more runs in the fourth on a pair of RBI groundouts from Rayohna Sagapolu and Vidal.
- Caroline Bowman (1-11) was charged with the loss while Marissa Moreno (3-3) picked up the win for San Diego State.
