Stanford, Calif.—The San José State beach volleyball team faced the #8 and #5 ranked teams Saturday afternoon in duals played at Stanford. The Spartans lost to #8 Grand Canyon and #5 Loyola Marymount by identical 5-0 scores.
The Spartans top pair of Haylee Nelson and Jaida Ward had the toughest match of the five against Grand Canyon, falling to the Lopes 21-15, 21-13. Siena Brewster and Letizia Cammillucci had the closest match against the Lions, falling 21-12, 21-10.
San José State plays two more top-15 ranked teams on Sunday with duals against #10 California at 3 p.m., and #11 Stanford at 5 p.m. Fans can watch the matches against Stanford at the links below.
