Women’s Golf Team Ranked in Top-10 of WGCA All-Scholar Teams

Coral Springs, Fla.—The San José State University women's golf team is ranked among the top-25 programs in the country in team grade point average, finishing the 2020-21 season ranked ninth with a 3.877 overall team GPA, as announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

The collective average team GPA included all of the team's student-athletes for the 2020-21 season. Fellow Mountain West school New Mexcio topped the list with a 3.993 GPA.

"I am very proud of the entire team for finishing in the top-10 in the country for the best team GPA. This ranking is a testament to their hard work in the classroom and a clear signal this team is earning our motto of 'Strong Women Come From Here,'" said Spartan head coach Dana Dormann.

This is the third academic honor the team has received during the month of July. The team's lineup for the 2021 season earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors (Kajsa Arwefjäll, Louisa Carlbom, Jadan Gonzalez, Antonia Malate and Jordyn Parr). Those five along with Natasha Andrea Oon and Danielle Suh received Academic All-Mountain West honors and MW Scholar Athlete recognition.
