OREM, Utah - San Jose State women's soccer handled themselves well playing in their first-ever game at Clyde Field on the campus of Utah Valley. The Spartans dropped the contest 2-0, but created plenty of good chances while gaining experience with the Mountain West slate quickly approaching.
- The Spartans played a very disciplined opening half as they held the advantage on shots, 5-4, and held the Wolverines offense at bay until the 43rd minute when Utah Valley scored just before the break.
- Sabrina Nava had one of the best scoring chances for the Spartans in the 31st minute as she fired off a shot to the right corner of the net, but the ball just missed finding its mark.
- Utah Valley added its second goal inside the 56th minute.
- The Wolverines finished with a 13-7 shot advantage.
- Freshman keeper Autum Monty, making her second-straight start in the net, made a pair of saves.
The Spartans (2-3-0) return to action on Friday with a home match against Loyola Marymount. First touch is set for 7:00 p.m. PT.
