Women's Golf Starts Week at Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah

The 22nd-ranked San José State women's golf team travels to the state of Illinois for the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah on Monday and Tuesday. The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Medinah Country Club, 25 miles west of Chicago.
 
SJSU will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The Spartans begin the first round with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT/6:30 a.m. PT, and play 36 continuous holes on Monday.

•The Spartans are ranked 22nd in the latest Golfweek rankings and are the highest non-Power 5 school.
 
•Individually, Antonia Malate is ranked 26th in the Golfweek rankings after compiling a 164-7-1 record through her first two tournaments played. She is currently ranked 176 on the WAGR.
 
•Malate was the September Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Month with two top-five finishes in the month.
 
•Up Next – The Spartans will play two tournaments this week, returning to the Bay Area for the Stanford Intercollegiate Friday-Sunday, October 15-17, at the Stanford Golf Course.
