FRESNO, Calif.—The San José State women's swimming team finished the first day of the Chick-fil-A Invitational hosted by Fresno State with many new season bests for the Spartans.

• Zsófia Muzsnay finished ninth in the 500 freestyle at 5:02.86, lowering her season-best by over a second.
•Ela Freiman finished 13th in 200 individual medley at 2:07.39, six seconds better than her last meet. She was also eighth in the 400 IM 4:26.18.
• Réka Kovács finished 11th in the 200 freestyle at 1:52.46, the fastest a Spartan has swam at that distance this year.
•The 800 freestyle relay team of Muzsnay, Kovács, Andreea Dragoi and Freiman finished fourth in a close placing for third and fourth with San Diego State at 7:38.09. The Spartans dropped almost two seconds off their fastest time of the season.
•In the 100 breaststroke, Frieman had the best time of the season at 1:05.68 to place 15th.
•In 3-meter diving, Anna Jabs finished 14th at 171.40.
The final day of the Chick-fil-A Invitational begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
