SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State men's basketball opened the 2021-22 season in thrilling fashion as Trey Smith buried a 15-foot jumper at the buzzer to give first-year head coach Tim Miles his 400th career win in a 78-76 victory over Cal State Fullerton last Thursday night. The Spartans will look to build on that momentum with a road game at Stanford this Monday night, 8 p.m. PT, inside Stanford's Maples Pavilion. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
- The Spartans led for 37 minutes in the home opener against Cal State Fullerton
- Shon Robinson scored a career-high 14 points, while Caleb Simmons added a career-best 11
- Smith finished the game with 14 points and went 3-for-5 from behind the arc
- San José State shot 50 percent from behind the arc (14-for-28)
- The Spartans connected on 10 or more 3-pointers in just four games last season
- SJSU trails the all-time series at Stanford, 40-13
