Colorado Springs, Colo.--- As the 2020 defending Mountain West football champion, San Jose State University football team will appear on the CBS Sports Network (CBS SN) three times during the 2021 season.
CBSSN will televise the Spartans' quest for consecutive winning seasons for the first time in 30 years starting with the season opener on August 28 with Southern Utah. Game time inside CEFCU Stadium, the Home of the Spartans, is set for 7:00 p.m.
San Jose State's final two CBSSN appearances are in the heart of the Mountain West schedule as the Spartans aim to become the first conference school since San Diego State in 2015 and 2016 to repeat as the league champion.
Coach Brent Brennan's squad will host San Diego State, Friday, October 15, at 7:30 p.m. Last year on CBSSN Friday night football, the Spartans posted a 28-17 comeback victory after trailing 10-0 in the second quarter.
The following weekend at UNLV, Saturday, October 23, at 7:30 p.n., is the team's final CBSSN appearance. Unlike 2020 when San Jose State defeated Nevada to end the regular season and Boise State for the Mountain West championship in Sam Boyd Stadium at the east end of Las Vegas, the Spartans will play the Rebels in the city's new Allegiant Stadium, less than a 15-minute walk from the glamour and glitz of the Las Vegas Strip.
CBSSN is available on DirecTV (Channel 221), DISH Network (Channel 158), Xfinity (Channel 734) and on many other cable systems. Online, CBSSN can be seen on CBSSports.com. Paid streaming services include AT&T, fuboTV, Hulu, Sling TV, and YouTubeTV.
Today's announcement of San Jose State football on CBSSN precedes the May 27 conference announcement of the team's games on FOX Sports, either FOX, FS1 or FS2. In all, 54 games featuring at least one Mountain West school will be televised by CBS, CBSSN, FOX, FS1, or FS2.
Telecasts by Spectrum Sports of Hawaii and stadium will be announced by the Mountain West and participating schools in the near future.
