SJSU's Amey Named Mountain West Freshman of the Week

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San José State's Myron (MJ) Amey, Jr. has been named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday. Amey had a career-high and set a Spartans freshman scoring record with 32 points in a 118-43 win against Bethesda (1-1 versus Division I teams this season) on Saturday (story).

  • From Vacaville, Calif.
  • Amey had a career-high in points, field goals (13), 3-pointers (5) rebounds (7), assists (3) and steals (2) in the win
  • First Mountain West weekly award
  • This is the second Mountain West Freshman of the Week award for the Spartans this season (Alvaro Cardenas, story)

The Spartans next game is also their first conference game of the season on Tuesday at Fresno State at 7 p.m. on the Mountain West Network and heard on the Varsity Network Mobile App.
