BERKELEY, Calif.----- For thesecond consecutive day at the Cal Cup, the San Jose State University women's water polo team posted a come-from-behind victory overcoming a five-goal deficit in the second half to the University of the Pacific for a 14-13 overtime win. The day before, the Spartans (6-3) trailed No.8 Fresno State by three in the first half prior to pulling out a 10-9 triumph.

San Jose State concluded its weekend action going 2-2 losing 17-10 to No. 4 California (8-0).

HIGHLIGHTS
• San Jose State trailed Pacific, 10-5, at the 7:03 mark of the third quarter before staging its comeback to tie the match at 12-12 with 2:34 remaining in the fourth quarter. Lucy Miszewski of the Spartans tied the score at 13-13 with 1:13 on the clock to send the match into overtime.

• The win over Pacific was San Jose State's third consecutive match decided by one goal. The Spartans are 2-1 in matches decided by one goal on the season.

• San Jose State picked up its first overtime win since defeating UC Davis, 12-11, on February 22, 2020 in the Barbara Kalbus Invitational hosted by UC Irvine.

• The six San Jose State wins after the first two weeks of the season are more victories for the Spartans than in the 2021 (two) and 2020 (five) shortened seasons.

• Cila David scored the match-winning goal against Pacific with 0:32 remaining in the second overtime period. It was her second of the contest.

• Olga Descalzi was the Spartans leading scorer on the weekend with 11 goals in the four matches. She has 23 goals for the season. Riley Agerbeek scored eight goals including three in the Pacific win.

• Clarissa Wandinger drew 16 opponent exclusions in the four matches.
