Spartans Split Day 1 of NorCal Kickoff

Game 1: BOX SCORE (PDF)
Game 2: BOX SCORE (PDF)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -
Karisma Bergesen's two RBI fourth inning home run proved enough for San José State (1-1, 0-0 Mountain West) to outlast Sacramento State (0-1, 0-0 Big Sky) in the Spartans' second game of the day at the NorCal Kickoff. Jocylyn Vidal led off the inning with a double to right center field before Bergesen launched one over the right center fence with two outs to score her and Vidal and give the Spartans a 2-1 edge that would be enough to hold off the Hornets.

  • Vidal and Bergesen each went 1-3 and Jules Ronquillo was 2-4, earning her first hit of her collegiate career
