STANFORD, Calif. - Jillian Figueroa led the San José State Spartans (3-3, 0-0 Mountain West) in an 8-3 loss to BYU (5-1, 0-0 West Coast Conference) in the first game of the Stanford Invitational on Thursday Night at the Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium. Figueroa went 2-4 with 2 RBIs.

- San José State had 10 hits and seven different Spartans recorded hits against BYU
- Jocylyn Vidal went 2-4 with an RBI
- Jessica Giacoma went 2-2 with a double
- Lacie Ham (1-2) threw all six innings in the circle and had six strikeouts
- The Spartans got hot in the fourth inning, scoring four runs on six hits and an error
- San José State left 10 runners on base
