Record-Breaking Meet For Spartans

DAVIS, Calif.—School records shattered Sunday afternoon as the San José State women's gymnastics team obliterated the team score school record with a 196.550, one of three SJSU records tied or broken in a dual meet at UC Davis.

  • The Spartans broke the old team record of 195.975 set at the 2018 MPSF Championships.
  • The beam team broke the school record with a 49.300, breaking the old record of 48.275 set in 2011 and 2018.
  • Emma Milne tied her own school record on beam with a 9.925. Jada Mazury and Lauren Macpherson each recorded a 9.875.
  • The Spartans started the meet strong with a 49.125 on bars, the fifth-best bars score in school history. Milne & Mazury won the bars at 9.850.
  • On vault for the second rotation, SJSU recorded another top-10 score with a 48.975.
  • Madison Kirsch and Jaudai Lopes won the vault as each had a career-high 9.875.  Kirsch won her first career vault title, while Lopes won the vault for the second consecutive meet.
  • The floor team tied for the ninth-best score with a 49.150, led by Mazury with a career-best 9.900.
  • In the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation record book, the Spartans now own the balance beam team score record, have the second-highest team score record and highest in the conference since 2015, and Milne is tied for the top beam score.

San José State returns home this Friday, February 11th, with a meet against Air Force beginning at 7 p.m., inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. All Spartan gymnastics alumni are invited to the meet and can email James Williams at for two tickets to the meet. It is also the annual Pink Meet for breast cancer awareness.
