SAN JOSÉ, Calif. - Jocylyn Vidal batted in the go ahead run en route to a 5-2 San José State (13-8, 0-0 Mountain West) win over Idaho State (11-11, 0-0 Big Sky) in the latter game of Friday evening's double header. Vidal went 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI.
The Spartans dropped game one of the afternoon, 2-1, leaving three runners left on base in the final inning. Vidal hit into a ground out to second base to end the game.

GAME 1
- Caroline Bowman (1-4) started the game in the circle and threw 4.0 innings before Jenessa Ullegue (9-1) came in for the final three
- The Spartans and Bengals each had seven hits
- San José State left nine runners aboard
- The Spartans lone run came on a wild pitch that scored Vidal from third.
GAME 2
- Lacie Ham (1-3) got 4.0 IP of work before Ullegue pitched the final three and earned her ninth win of the season
- Jules Ronquillo went 2-for-3 with two RBIs
- In the bottom of the sixth Ronquillo laid down a bunt and beat the throw and advance Taylor Squires to second and then the third baseman had a throwing error that advanced Squires and Ronquillo all the way to home to tie the game up at 2-2
- After Ronquillo, the Spartans loaded up the bases and Vidal hit the RBI singlefor the 3-2 edge
- San José State's final two runs came from two walks that forced runners home.
- SJSU scored five runs on five hits with no errors
UP NEXT
The Spartans face Utah State and UC Davis in back-to-back contests tomorrow at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network.
