BERKELEY, Calif.—Ryann Lucchesi led the Spartan scoring attack with two goals and an assist Saturday afternoon as 12th-ranked San José State fell 12-5 at No. 4 California in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at Spieker Aquatics Complex.

- Lucchesi scored both of her goals in the third quarter on power plays.
- Her first goal came at 5:57 of the third quarter with an assist from Clarissa Wandinger.
- Lucchesi's second goal found the back of the net with 17 seconds left in the third quarter. Riley Agerbeek was credited with the assist.
- Lior Ben David, Renee Fleming and Lucy Miszewski scored for San José State in the fourth quarter.
- The Spartans were held scoreless in the first half despite taking eight shots on goals and having seven power plays.
- San José State finished the match 3-for-15 on the power play.
- In goal, Hannah Henry played the first half, while Elaina Davey was in goal for the second half. Each made two saves during her time in goal.
San José State continues on the road Sunday with a match at No. 17 Pacific beginning at noon.
