MORAGA, Calif.—The number-four and five pairs won Tuesday afternoon for the San Josë State beach volleyball team as the Spartans fell at Saint Mary's, 3-2.
- Madeline Boerstra and Chloe Culver won in straight sets, 21-9, 21-13 at the fourth position.
- Cheyenne Rice and Sarah Smevog played together for the first time this season and won 21-19, 25-23 at number five.
- The other three pairs each went three sets in their matches.
The Spartans play two dual this Saturday at UC Davis – 11 a.m. versus Cal and 3 p.m. against UC Davis.
