STANFORD, Calif. – Micah Hairston led the Spartans with a win in the 110mH and a second-place finish in the 400mH at the Cardinal Classic on Saturday at Cobb Track and Angell Field. San José State had two individual wins across all events, competing against student-athletes from eight other universities.
MEN
- Hairston ran a 14.45 in the 110mH and a 55.13 in the 400mH
- Bryan Quintero finished third in the Hammer Throw (59.09m) with teammate Bryson Smith right behind him in fourth (53.90m)
- Pablo Villasenor III took third place in the Shot Put (13.97m)
- Kyle Jankans made his debut in the Long Jump (6.82m)
- Bashar Barksdale tied his PR of 21.98 in the 200m Dash
- The 4x400 team of Hairston, Barksdale, Mikael Tyler and Christian Rodriguez finished third in the relay event in 3:20.11
WOMEN
- Lina Shubert won the High Jump with a jump of 1.70m
- Emilia Sjostrand had a PR (12.51m) in the Triple Jump, finishing second
- Sydney Bentley finished second in the 400m dash in a time of 55.79
- Jicel Fernandez took second place in the 3000 Steeplechase, clocking in at 11:42.26 for a PR
- The 4x400 team ran a 3:56.09 in the relay event, finishing second
