Dorraugh Earns MW Player of the Week for Second Time This Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Hunter Dorraugh was named Mountain West Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Dorraugh, a sophomore transfer from Sacramento State, earns the distinction for the second time this season (story) after hitting .455 with a home run, triple, double and a pair of singles on the way to helping the Spartans sweep San Diego State for the first time since 1999 and getting their first series win against SDSU since joining the Mountain West Conference.

  • Tied for 16th in the nation and leads the Mountain West with eight home runs
  • Put up a slugging percentage of 1.000 with an on base percentage of .500 against SDSU
  • Had five hits, four RBIs and scored five runs in the three games
  • Leads the Spartans with eight home runs, 18 RBIs and a .681 slugging percentage

Dorraugh and the Spartans head to Santa Clara on Tuesday with first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and it can be watched on Stadium.
