FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Karizma Bergesen went 1-for-2 with a three RBI home run in San José State's (16-11, 2-2 Mountain West) 6-4 loss to Colorado State (9-16, 1-3 Mountain West) on Friday afternoon at Ram Field in game one of a three-game series with the Rams. The Spartans controlled the lead through the fifth inning before Colorado State capitalized on two fielding errors and a wild pitch in the fifth and sixth innings to edge out SJSU.

- Ashley Rico had an RBI single in the fifth inning that drove in Jenessa Ullegue and gave the Spartans a 4-3 advantage
- Jocylyn Vidal went 3-3 to improve to a .289 batting average
- Caroline Bowman started the game in the circle with two strikeouts, five hits and three runs allowed in 4.0 IP
- Ullegue (11-2) got the loss, throwing 2.0 innings with one strikeout and allowing three runs
- The Spartans had nine hits to the Rams' eight
- San José State had three errors in the field and left eight runners stranded
