Spartans Hold Crowded Spring Game

2022 Football Schedule | Season Tickets

SAN JOSE, Calif.
– The San José State football team held their annual spring game Saturday in front of a lively crowd of 6,134. The One Spartan Nation Brew Fest and hospitality area took up about one-third of the field and was packed as the spring game started. Right off the bat, it was transfer to transfer as Chevan Cordeiro found Justin Lockhart for a long touchdown as all the quarterbacks had strong games.

"I thought they did great," head coach Brent Brennan said on quarterbacks Cordeiro and Nick Nash. "I thought they both played really well today. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch them continue to slug it out and play, but it was awesome. They both made big time throws."

Spring Game Highlights:
Chevan Cordeiro had two touchdown passes to Justin Lockhart and one rushing touchdown
Shamar Garrett had a rushing touchdown
Kenyon Reed had an endzone interception
The defense had a fourth and goal stop

The Spartans open the season at home against Portland State on Sept. 3, 2022.
