Spartans Achieve Best Regional Score in School History

SEATTLE, Wash.—Jada Mazury won the bars and tied for first on floor in the first session of the NCAA Seattle Regional on Wednesday, but the San José State women's gymnastics team did not advance after scoring a 195.150, falling to Stanford who scored a 196.425.
 

  • Mazury won the bars with a 9.900, her sixth 9.900 or better score this season.
  • The bars team scored a 49.150, tying for the sixth-highest in SJSU bars history.
  • Madison Kirsch and Jaudai Lopes led the vault team with a 9.850 each.
  • The floor team scored a 49.225, tying for the seventh-best floor score in school history.
  • Mazury tied for first on floor with a 9.900, her fourth 9.90+ score this season.
  • Carli Orcutt made a solid contribution to the floor team with a season-best 9.825.
  • Emma Milne finished second on beam overall with a 9.850.
  • Lauren Macpherson won the all-around with a 39.150.
  • The Spartan team score of 195.150 is the best for San José State in a regional in school history.

 
Four Spartans will compete in the second round of the NCAA Regional on Thursday. Macpherson will compete in the all-around in the first session and will rotate with BYU. In the second session, Mazury will compete in the all-around and rotate with Stanford. Kirsch will compete as a vault specialist, while Milne will compete as a beam specialist. Both will rotate with Oregon State.
