RENO, Nev.— Ashley Rico hit her second and third home runs of the season and drove in four runs in the San José State softball team's (18-18, 4-7 Mountain West) loss to Nevada (12-27, 2-9 Mountain West) in the second of a three-game series, 14-13, Saturday afternoon at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park in Reno.
Rico went 4-for-5 with a season high four hits, four RBIs, two home runs and three runs scored.

- Rico hit the first San José State home run into left field in the third inning and her second solo shot to right field in the fifth
- She followed that up by driving in two runs on a double to score Alyssa Graham and Anessa Almaguer in the Spartans' explosive eight-run fourth inning
- This was Rico's fourth-straight multi-hit game with her 17th RBI of the season
- Jillian Figueroa went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and drove in Ashley Goard and Jocylyn Vidal on a three-run homer in the fourth inning
- Almaguer and Karizma Bergesen went each recorded two hits
- Bergesen hit the Spartans' fifth home run of the day in the sixth inning
- The Spartans recorded 13 hits and 12 RBIs
- Lacie Ham (3-6) threw a total of 1.0 inning and Goard, Caroline Bowman, Jenessa Ullegue each saw time in the circle
