Karizma Bergesen Earns Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San José State junior Karizma Bergesen has been named Mountain West Softball Player of the Week for her efforts in the Spartans' series win over Nevada this weekend, the Mountain West conference announced Tuesday morning. Bergesen set a new San José State program record and tied the conference record for single-game home runs with three in Sunday (April 10) afternoon's 13-5 win over Nevada.

  • Led San José State to a series win over Nevada.
  • Hit .412 on the week, recording seven hits, including four home runs and six RBIs (5 RBIs on 4/10).
  • Homered three times against the Wolf Pack on April 10, breaking a single-game program-record and tying the MW's single-game record.
  • Tallied a team-high .412 on-base percentage and a 1.118 slugging percentage on the week.
