SAN JOSE, Calif.—After winning a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championship, the San José State women's gymnasts have been honored for their achievements in the classroom by having 10 gymnasts named Academic All-MPSF Scholar-Athletes.
The Spartans led the league with 10 honorees, tying for the most San José State gymnasts honored since 2016. Antonia Marquez and Carli Orcutt received their second career recognition after the award was on hiatus for the 2021 season.
To receive the distinction, gymnasts must have a 3.00 or better grade point average, be a sophomore academically, completed at least one full academic year at the institution prior to this season and competed in 50 percent or more of the institution's competitions.
