SAN JOSE, Calif.—San José State women's gymnast Jada Mazury added to her trophy case on Tuesday as she was voted the 2022 Breakout Performer of the Year by College Gym News.
Mazury was the 2022 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-around, bars and floor champion. She helped the Spartans win the 2022 MPSF championship and advance to the NCAA Seattle Regional. Mazury was also an all-around competitor at the NCAA Seattle Regional.
An all-around competitor this season for the first time in her Spartan career, Mazury won the MPSF crown with a 39.350 and won five all-around titles this past season. She scored a 39.000 or higher in 10 of the 12 meets this season. Mazury also tied the bars school record with a 9.950 in the final home meet of the season.
