Spartans Football Back on KTRB 860 AM This Season

SAN JOSE, Calif. - KTRB (860 AM, San Francisco) will return once again as the flagship station for the Spartan Radio Network this season for all football games. Justin Allegri will begin his 10th season in the booth calling San José State athletics and joining him is analyst Kevin Richardson for his 15th season. Richardson will also do play-by-play for two games this season, Portland State and Colorado State, with Josh Love once again joining Richardson for color commentary. Allegri will be on NBC Sports Bay Area joined by James Jones and Kylen Mills for the Sept. 1 Portland State game and Nov. 5 Colorado State game.

"We're excited to expand the partnership with KTRB and I'm thrilled to work again with Kevin Richardson," said Broadcast and Mountain West Network Producer Allegri. "KTRB has been a wonderful partner helping provide consistent coverage to our fan base and we're happy to have them as a teammate once again."

All broadcasts begin 30 minutes prior to kickoff with a pregame show and a 30 minute postgame show.

For the first time since 2018, the San José State Coaches Show will air over the radio. Allegri will host and have segments each week from head coach Brent Brennan, special guests and players. Each broadcast can be heard on Thursday night at 7 p.m. on KTRB, with the exception of the first show, which airs on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.

Teskes Germania will be the site of the San José State Coaches Show and it will be taped in front of a live audience every Wednesday night at 6 p.m. with the exception being the first show on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. The restaurant is located at 255 N First St. in San Jose and more information can be found here.

JUSTIN ALLEGRI

  • This season will be his 10th in the booth for San José State football calling over 100 games since his first season in 2013.
  • In addition to being the Voice of the Spartans, he is the Broadcast and Mountain West Network Producer for San Jose State Athletics. He oversees the LiveStream production of other Spartan sports, press conferences, and interviews which air on the Mountain West Digital Network and NBC Sports Bay Area. 
  • While his voice is heard locally and regionally with his SJSU broadcasts, he is heard around the world on Sony Playstation's "MLB The Show". Allegri began working with Playstation in 2014.
  • He has worked part time as a broadcaster for the San Jose Giants since 2015 and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from San José State.

KEVIN RICHARDSON

  • This season is his 15th season in the booth for San José State football
  • Played football at Stanford University and started as inside linebacker his final two years
  • Led the Cardinal in tackles during the 1987 season

JOSH LOVE

  • Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year (2019)
  • Played seven games in the USFL (Pittsburgh and Michigan) this past season
  • Third all-time in passing in SJSU history with 7,206 yards
