COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Chevan Cordeiro was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row, announced by the league office on Monday. Cordeiro, a junior quarterback from Honolulu, Hawaii, ran for a season-high 109 yards and threw for 230 yards while having a hand in four touchdowns in the Spartans 40-7 win over UNLV Friday night.

- Cordeiro is the first SJSU player to win MW player of the week honors in back-to-back weeks
- This is the second time in SJSU history (2020) they have won MW honors in three straight weeks (Jordan Pollard was named Freshman of the Week (story) on 9/26)
- Cordeiro had two touchdowns through the air and two on the ground against the Rebels
- The Spartans rushed for a season-high 203 yards against UNLV and had 433 yards of total offense
- Cordeiro has attempted 162 passes without an interception this season (SJSU is one of three FBS schools without an interception this season)
- SJSU is one of only two teams in FBS (USC) who have only one turnover this season and the Spartans have zero offensive turnovers
- Cordeiro has thrown for a Mountain West best 1,308 yards with six passing touchdowns and six rushing touchdowns this season.
- Cordeiro now has four career Mountain West weekly honors.
