SAN JOSE, Calif.
 -  Chevan Cordeiro threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, plus rushed for another and was helped by a defensive unit that recorded nine sacks to lead San José State (5-2, 3-1 Mountain West) to a 35-28 win over Nevada (2-7, 0-5 Mountain West) on Saturday night.

  • The 17,177 in attendance is the Spartans biggest home crowd of the season.
  • Cordeiro completed a career-high 33 passes on 45 attempts.
  • Cordeiro recorded his seventh rushing touchdown of the year, which ties his single-season career high.
    • He is the first Spartans quarterback to rush for seven touchdowns in a season since Kenny Potter in 2016.
  • The nine sacks were the most by a San José State team in a single game this century.
    • The school record is 13 sacks against Pacific on November 14th, 1981.
    • Nine sacks is the second-most sacks in a game this season in the FBS.
  • Viliami Fehoko registered his single-game career high of three sacks to bring his season total to four.
    • Fehoko also had a career-high 12 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss.
  • Cade Hall recorded his single-game career high of four sacks, including two sacks on consecutive plays with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter.
    • Hall is the fifth Spartan in team history to record four sacks in a game.
    • Hall leads the Spartans with six and a half sacks this season.
  • Bryun Parham amassed the first sack of his career.
  • Alii Matau collected his first unassisted sack of the season and his second-career interception.
  • With Matau's pick, the Spartans have recorded a takeaway in every game this season.
  • Kairee Robinson scored two touchdowns for the second time this season.
    • Robinson now has seven touchdowns in 2022.
  • Alex Weir tied his longest punt of his career at 57 yards.
  • The Spartans trailed 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.
  • SJSU tied the game when Cordeiro connected with Dominick Mazotti for a 10-yard passing touchdown.
  • The Spartans were down 14-7 at the half.
  • After going down 21-7 in the third quarter, Cordeiro put the Spartans back within one score by finding the end zone on a two-yard rush.
  • Later in the quarter, Cordeiro collected his second passing touchdown of the game, hooking up with Shamar Garrett on a 14-yard catch and run. 
    • The score was Garrett's first receiving touchdown of his career.
  • Taren Schive added the extra point to tie the game at 21-21 with 3:32 left in the third quarter and the score remained 21-21 heading into the fourth.
  • After going down 28-21 in the fourth quarter, the Spartans responded with a two-yard touchdown rush by Robinson with 6:29 remaining to tie the game once again.
  • Robinson scored his second touchdown of the night on a five-yard rush with 1:10 left in the fourth quarter to give the Spartans the lead, a lead they would never relinquish.
  • Matau intercepted Nevada with 33 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory.
  • The Spartans scored a touchdown on every single offensive drive in the second half.
  • SJSU is now 48-35-2 on homecoming.
