FRESNO, Calif.
- Felicity Passon swam the fifth-fastest time in program history with a mark of 1:59.52 to win the 200-yard backstroke, and led off the 400 medley relay team that finished fourth with a time of 3:47.60 to lead San José State in the final day of competition at the Chick-Fil-A Invite inside the Fresno State Aquatics Center on Saturday. The Spartans posted a final score of 324.50 points, more than 100 more than SJSU scored last season.

  • Passon nearly met the NCAA 'B' standard qualifying time of 1:57.07 in the 200 back
  • Joining Passon in the 400 medley relay were Emma Myburgh, Andreea Dragoi and Reagan Mathieson
  • Myburgh clocked a time of 2:18.37 to finish fourth in the 200 breaststroke
  • The 400 free relay team of Passon, Mathieson, Ela Freiman and Megan Legarth finished fifth with a time of 3:29.18
  • Mathieson posted a time of 51.89 in the 100 freestyle to finish in ninth place
    • Mya Azzopardi recorded an 11th-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 52.44
  • Dragoi tallied a ninth-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.53
  • Alice Ciobanu swam the mile in 18:12.23 to finish 11th 

NEXT UP: The Spartans will head to Bakersfield, Calif. for the Roadrunner Invitational next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15.
