ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Bente Pernot tied a career-high with nine saves, stopped two of four shots in a shootout and even had a shootout goal of her own to lead No. 3 seed San José State (8-6-6, 6-3-2 MW) in a 0-0 shootout win past No. 2 seed New Mexico (7-3-9, 5-1-5 MW) and on to the Mountain West Championship game on Saturday. This is Pernot's third shutout in a row and eighth of the season. Bella Flocchini had the game-winning shootout goal as the Spartans took the 4-2 penalty kick victory.
- This is the Spartans first trip to the Mountain West Championship game since 2018.
- That was Pernot's first career shootout goal and attempt.
- Sabrina Weinman and Kiana Miyazato also had shootout goals in the win.
