STOCKTON, Calif.—Alvaro Cardenas scored a season-high 17 points Saturday afternoon, but the San José State men's basketball team came up a point short in a 59-58 loss at Pacific inside the Alex G. Spanos Center.

- Cardenas scored 17 points for the third time and in double digits for the sixth game this season
- Cardenas was the only Spartan to score in double figures in the game as he was 6-for-11 from the field including 5-of-8 from three-point range.
- Omari Moore and Cardenas each dished out four assists in the game.
- All eight Spartans that played in the game scored at least three points. Trey Anderson added nine points, followed by Myron (MJ) Amey Jr. with eight points.
- San José State outrebounded the Tigers, 36-22, led by Sage Tolbert III and Ibrahima Diallo with seven each
- The Spartans led the entire first half and made the first field goal of the second half to take a 39-22 lead.
- San José State (8-4) had a chance to tie or take the lead as Tolbert was fouled with seven seconds remaining but did not convert either free throw.
- SJSU got the rebound but did not make the layup as the Tigers grabbed the ball and ran out the clock.
- The Spartans have not won in Stockton since the 1992-93 season
