SAN JOSE, Calif.—Alvaro Cardenas led the Spartans with 10 points as the San José State men's basketball team got a 58-48 win over CSU Bakersfield Tuesday night inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

- Cardenas was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists.
- Eight of the nine Spartans who played in the game scored at least three points.
- Sage Tolbert III was just that short of a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
- Ibrahima Diallo led the team with 11 rebounds and added nine points.
- Omari Moore dished out a team-best five assists, blocked three shots, scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds.
- The teams were tied at halftime 25-25, with the Roadrunners leading by as many as eight in the half.
- The Spartans did not take a lead until the first possession of the second half with a Trey Anderson jumper to go ahead 27-25.
- SJSU took the lead for good with a Moore dunk to lead 29-27 and never looked back.
- The Spartans biggest lead came at the end of the game with two Trey Anderson made free throws to make it 58-48.
- San José State improved to 7-3 on the season.
