Spartans Ranked in WCGA Preseason Poll

MARLBORO, N.J. –The defending Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Champion San José State women's gymnastics team begins the 2023 season ranked 36th in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Preseason Poll, as voted on by the members of the association.

  • The Spartans won the 2022 MPSF Championship and competed at the NCAA Seattle Regional.
  • Four SJSU gymnasts, all returnees, competed in the second round of the NCAA Regional – Lauren Macpherson, Jada Mazury, Madison Kirsch and Emma Milne.
  • Mazury was the MPSF All-Around Champion as well as the bars and floor champions.
  • Kirsch won the MPSF Vault Title, while Milne won the beam as she tied her school record with a 9.925.

San José State hosts its annual Blue & Gold Intrasquad next Friday, December 16, inside the team's practice gym (SPX 231) at 7 p.m. The team opens the regular season with a meet at Stanford on Saturday, January 14, at 1 p.m.

The Spartans host four meets this season inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

Friday, February 10 – Air Force, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, February 24 – UC Davis, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 5 – Southern Utah, 2 p.m.
