The 2023 San José State women's gymnastics team opens the season this weekend with meets at Stanford on Saturday and at Air Force on Monday.

- The Spartans travel up Interstate 280/Highway 101 to face the Cardinal Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. inside of Maples Pavilion. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by clicking here.
- The two teams faced each other last season in the first round of the NCAA Seattle Regional as the Spartans posted the best regional team score in school history at 195.150.
- Monday, San José State competes at MPSF foe Air Force for a 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT meet.
- The Spartans and Falcons competed against each other three times last season as SJSU went 3-0 including winning the conference title.
- All-arounders Jada Mazury, Lauren Macpherson and Jaudai Lopes anchor the team.
- Mazury won the MPSF individual titles on bars, floor and all-around and was named the Breakout Performer of the Year by College Gym News.
- Emma Milne returns after winning the MPSF beam title with a school-record-tying 9.925 in the championship meet.
- Madison Kirsch leads the vault after winning the 2022 MPSF title and recording a 9.900 at the NCAA Seattle Regional.
- Four newcomers joined the Spartan program this year – Ariana Castrence, Kyra Cato, Chloe Frank and Mikaela Pitts.
UP NEXT – After these two competitions, the Spartans will take a small break before opening the home portion of the schedule on Sunday, January 29.
