The Spartans travel to Logan, Utah, for a Saturday afternoon game against Utah State to finish out this two-game road trip. The team is playing their fourth MW road game of this season. The Aggies enter the game with a 15-4 overall record and are tied for fourth place with New Mexico at 4-2.

San José State enters the game with a 12-7 overall record and a 3-3 MW mark, tied with Air Force for sixth place in MW standings. The team fell at New Mexico, 77-57, this past Tuesday night as Omari Moore became the 16th Spartan in school history to score 1,000 career points. Moore finished the game with exactly 1,000 points as he led all players with 24 points. He also dished out five assists for the Spartans. Ibrahima Diallo and Alvaro Cardenas each scored eight points, and Cardenas dished out six assists. Robert Vaihola grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds and had three steals.

ABOUT UTAH STATE:  The Aggies enter Saturday's game with a 15-4 overall record and a 4-2 MW mark. The team is tied for fourth place in the MW standings with New Mexico after winning at home against UNLV, 75-71, Tuesday night. Utah State had one common non-conference opponent as the team defeated Santa Clara at home, 96-74, in mid-November. Head coach Ryan Odom is in his second season at the school.
Series Record - 22-68. The two teams first faced each other on December 23, 1935, as the Aggies won 40-36 in San Jose. Since the Spartans won the 1996 Big West Championship, 76-75 in overtime, over the Aggies in Reno, Utah State has won 35 of the past 37 meetings.

MOORE JOINS ELITE SPARTAN LIST:  January 17, 2023, a day that will live in Omari Moore's memory as he became the 16th player in San José State to score 1,000 career points. There wasn't much fanfare to the 1,000th point as Moore scored the point from the free throw line with 4:14 left in the game at New Mexico. Moore needs just 136 points to join Johnnie Skinner in 10th place at 1,136 points.

DISHING OUT THE ROCK: The Spartan duo of Omari Moore and Alvaro Cardenas are two of the best to dish out the ball during Mountain West play. Moore has 33 assists in six games, the second-most in conference play. He has dished out five or more assists in five of the six MW games played. Cardenas has 25 assists in the six games, tying for the fifth-highest total as he dished out nine assists in the win over Fresno State.

GET THAT OUT OF MY HOUSE: In 19 games this season, Ibrahima Diallo has blocked 39 shots. That total has put him in a tie for the eighth-highest total in school history. He is tied with Brandon Clarke who blocked 39 shots in 2016 and followed that up with a school-record 77 blocks in the 2016-17 season.

CAREER RANKINGS: Two Spartans ranks among the San José State best in three categories. Omari Moore is in fifth place all-time in assists at 352, sixth in blocked shots at 77, and  eighth all-time in steals with 108 and needs one to tie with Chris McNealy for seventh place.

Ibrahima Diallo is ninth in blocked shots with 59 and needs six to move into eighth place with Isaac Thornton.
